TAKING OUTFIT INSPIRATION FROM TV SHOWS

A thing I often do is watch TV shows and films and dream of amazing old school outfits, hair and make up and wish I could pull it off. Especially the sixties to the eighties, how dreamy! I have always joked that I was born in the wrong era, as being a nineties gal doesn't quite reflect on a lot of my music tastes and fashion that I love, too.

A series that I had a massive binge session on is Stranger Things and it stole the hearts of so many people when it first came out, admittedly it took a few attempts for me to watch the creepy as hell first episode, but once I got past that I fell head over heels in love with everything about it. Especially the outfits! Everything about the show just screams 'eighties' right down to things such as the soundtrack and scenery, which also probably made me fall in love with it (well, besides the amazing storyline which had me hooked).

I've wanted to create an eighties sort of look on Sister Of The Moon and Truffle Shuffle helped me do just that! If you don't know what Truffle Shuffle is, it's a site that sells retro band, tv and film shirts, and accessories and gifts too! So when they contacted me to collaborate I was in absolute retro t-shirt heaven. I narrowed it down to this amazing Stranger Things Ringer Tee* which looks like Hawkins Arcade merch! It is super soft and despite it saying that it's a mens t-shirt it fits really comfortably, as sometimes mens t-shirts can be a little bit ill-fitting on us gals with a bit more in the boob region.

Of course in true Max-from-season-2 style I've gone for a tomboy outfit for todays post. I have recently spoken about Being A Tomboy on my blog and this definitely pays homage to that, plus it is super casual and comfortable too. This black culotte style jeans have been sat in my drawers at home waiting to be featured on my blog, they go so well with most tops! Whether you want to style them up with a cute bandeau top and chunky heels, or go casual with a printed tee and converse, they are so versatile. They are in the sale too so be quick to snap them up.  I have owned these converse since I was around sixteen and they have been a key piece to many years of outfits and even though I could replace them, I probably won't for a while yet.

I'm not going to lie I am absolutely obsessed with the photographs for todays post, I felt so confident in my eighties-esque get up and me and my sister took all these photographs straight off the bat, we had no terrible outtakes and no photographs that we hated! This is a blogging first for me, and i'm sure it doesn't happen very often for others either.
