25 December 2017

Oh my word! I can't believe it's that time already, this year has flown by! I thought I'd try my hand at doing a bit of a round up of my year, it's been a year full of ups and downs for me personally, but there has also been a lot of redeeming qualities in it too!

I actually started off my year in a pretty slow way, by having a knee operation which sort of stopped me from doing much, but it was something I really needed to do. A few weeks in I went to see Black Sabbath and it was absolutely insane, I was very impressed with the whole show and me and my boyfriend Dan then went around Leeds drinking and we had such a fab night. Throughout 2017 I also went to see a few other bands such as Blink 182(which I was over the moon about!), Green Day and Feeder, we also went to Leeds Festival for the day and saw bands such as Korn (my 15 year old me would have gone crazy), Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, Marmozets and Eminem, probably not as many as I'd have liked to this year, but hey ho thats a thing for 2018, right?!

In 2017 I finally bought my own car! This won't seem much to some, but I have had one shit car after another because I haven't been able to afford much in terms of a car. I actually started the year owning a little Mini Cooper but it was just a little run around and it came to the point which I decided it was a good time to actually get a proper car. So I bought a cute little red Vauxhall Adam, and I love it. It also gave me the freedom to go more places, so me and Dan have gone on more days out this year!

The biggest point of 2017 for me (in all honesty) was going to Disneyland Paris... twice. Fortunately I was absolutely lucky enough to have been bought an annual pass for Disneyland, my boyfriends Mum wanted us all to go for her 50th and she kindly bought us annual passes each! So, we first went in May, a few days after my birthday, and it was the best experience! The weather was fantastic and we went on so many rides, yes Disneyland made me get over my fear of rides. We also went into the city and explored places such as the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and so many other wonderful tourist spots! Dan and I also went just before Halloween, I was in my element completely! Disneyland wasn't as dressed up for Halloween as I had thought, but we had the best time.

This year I attended the Bloggers Blog Awards! I was shortlisted for the Best New Blog award but unfortunately didn't win. On the bright side I met some amazing bloggers and people who I had been dying to meet! I spent the day with some amazing ladies and laughed until my cheeks hurt.

Ah 2017, the year of amazing music! I sort of lost touch with my love of music this year, but there has been some amazing albums released and I've played them on repeat.

My top picks for albums are: Paramore - After Laughter, Harry Styles - Harry Styles,  Ryan Adams - Prisoner,  Foo Fighters - Concrete and Gold and Queens Of The Stone Age - Villains

Also 2017 has had some fantastic film and TV! The two things that stood out for me are Stranger Things 2 and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Both have very mixed reviews but I loved both of them very much.

In the beginning of November I created a post on the Blogs I Recommend Reading and all of the blogs I featured on this still stand completely, they all have their own amazing qualities and I can always count on them for amazing reads and something to watch (if they have Youtube channels of course). As well as having this amazing bunch of bloggers that inspire me daily there is also a blogger that has been a massive inspiration for me this year and that is Zoe London! Zoe has come from strength to strength and always puts out amazing and inspiring content on her blog and YouTube, I love her vlogs but also the fashion and beauty content she creates. Her and George (her fiance)have created some absolutely stunning lookbook videos, which are so visually pleasing not only because of the outfits, but because the shots that they get by camera and by drone! Also not only has she done this but she has also purchased her first home with her partner and I am looking forward to more home content and tips on buying your first home, in 2018! Talk about blogger goals.

This year my blog content has gotten better and this is all down to my wonderful sister Rebecca and her boyfriend Dom! She takes my blog photographs for me, and he has also done a few sets for me too, we are a great team, I couldn't be more thankful for both of them and the hard work they have put into making my little corner of the internet into what it is now. Here are a few the posts that I absolutely love the most.

Well, this is it for my roundup of my year! It's been a whirlwind of a year and I'm glad to have spend it with the people that I have done, my blog has flourished but I hope 2018 brings more improvement for myself and my blog! Thank you all for the support I couldn't have done it without you.

What are your 2017 highlights?
