This post my sound a little cliche blogger to some, but Autumn genuinely is my favourite season of the year. I feel very much in my element in Autumn and it's all because of my favourite things that I have listed in this post!
Don't get me wrong, I hate that Autumn can sometimes result in you leaving for work in the dark, and coming home in the dark (damn you clock changes), Christmas is unfortunately on the horizon and the weather can be really grim. But there is something about Autumn that is just me. When I was younger I used to be a Summer type of person, but I feel like this can mainly be linked to when I was at school and to a school kid the Summer holidays were everything. But as I've grown older and become the person I am today, my interests have changed and so has the seasons that make me happy.

Halloween is in Autumn

Oh how typical of me, saying that Halloween is my favourite! To be quite honest Halloween has always been my favourite day of the year, even right back to when my mum used to dress me in a black bin bag and tell me I was dressed as a witch. I know I'm not the only one who used to do this... Halloween is a part of me, theres Pumpkin patches, trick or treating and getting the opportunity to dress up as anyone you want to be. Let's also not forget about all the fantastic classic Halloween films too! My faves include Hocus Pocus, Edward Scissor Hands, The Craft, Nightmare Before Christmas and many many more.

Autumnal colours

There is something about the Autumnal colour palette that I adore, warm tones, browns, oranges, mustard yellows, reds. All of it. Whether it be nature or the seasonal colours that clothes shops seem to be flaunting everywhere, I just can't get enough. My favourite blog post of mine is Goodbye Autumn from the end of Autumn last year, and the colour palette in this post says it all. So dreamy.

The way the trees look when they are bare

I really enjoy the way the trees look when they have no sign of any leaves left on them, looking up and seeing bare trees on pale white skies is something I love seeing. I also like seeing all the piles of different coloured leaves on the ground, makes some pretty Instagram worthy shoe shots, right?

Wrapping up and layering outfits

I'm the sort of person who prefers to wrap up and head out into the cold, rather than have warm weather and have to wear minimal clothing. A large collection of coats sits in my bedroom every year just waiting to be worn and I'm at my happiest with how I dress when I can bring the whole outfit together with a coat. Don't get me started on hats and scarves too!

Autumn means great food and drinks

I get it, theres really good food and drinks year round but I'm going to be that typical person yet again on this one. Autumn means Starbucks bring out Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and then eventually Eggnog Lattes (which legit is my fave drink ever ever). Warm meals and soups become more appealing to me in Autumn too!

Unearthing my big dressing gown

I have a big mens Star Wars dressing gown and I eagerly anticipate the time of year when it's cool enough weather-wise to bring it out and snuggle up without breaking a sweat. It's common knowledge that when you get home from work you take off your boob cage (if your wear one, that is) put on your pyjamas or slouchy clothes and put on your dressing gown. It's the best thing ever.

There probably is a hundred and one other things I could write about to do with Autumn, but if I could narrow it down to a handful of reasons I would choose these.

Which season is your favourite and why?
Let me know in the comments!
