Sephora is a store that has always been on my 'places to visit' list, and I never thought I'd get a chance to pop into a store and take a look around until recently! When I went on holiday to Paris in May I was super lucky to be staying in an apartment that was a minute walk away from a shopping centre (and Sephora... eeee!).

If you don't know what Sephora is here is a basic explanation, it's a retail store that stocks many different make up, skincare, nail, perfume and hair brands all in one store. A little bit like a Boots or Superdrug but miles better! What appealed to me was that you could see and swatch a lot of make up brands that either are limited in the UK, or that you can't get hold of in stores. I thought I'd write up a little review of the items I picked up.

Sephora Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover
I was really excited to try some of Sephora's own brand products as I've heard so many good things about them. Dotted around the stores are little bottles of this make up remover and little cotton wool pads to clean up your hands after swatching etc, and I happened to use it after testing some lippy out and I was really impressed at first! It has an oily blue layer at the bottom which mixes in after shaking it up. I found this product works really well when removing everything but waterproof eye make up (which kind of makes no sense due to what the product is) so I use it for that, instead.

Kat Von D Alchemist Palette
When this palette was first released I actually wasn't bothered about it that much, I thought if I bought it I probably wouldn't use it. But this is where going into a Sephora came in handy, I got the opportunity to test it out and it's honestly so so good! It's really pigmented, and the colours really stand out! This product boasts about being not only amazing to wear as a highlighter, but easily layered on top of eyeshadows and lipsticks too. I fully back this and I am madly in love with it. The colours are much more vivid than in this picture, they wouldn't photograph well!

Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks
If you've been reading my blog for a while now you'll know that I am already a massive fan of these! I purchased the shades Bow N Arrow which is a nude brown, and Double Dare which is a sort of a burnt orangey pink shade. I love these so much as they don't apply really thick but have a great coverage. They last all day so you don't need to constantly top them up too!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
This is another product I had heard so many great things about, but it really let me down! Don't get me wrong, for the most part it did the job. But I have purchased cheap setting sprays that did just as an ok job as this did. I do have quite oily skin so my make up melts of easily, which it still did after using this! Maybe next time I may give the 'De Slick' spray a go!

I also purchased an Avocado Sheet Mask and a Charcoal Nose Strip from Sephoras own range too! Unfortunately I was too eager with these and I used them while I was still in France. They were both amazing and so cheap. The Avocado Sheet Mask left my skin feeling super soft and refreshed, and the Charcoal Nose Strip gave my nose that deep cleansed feeling and left my skin feeling soft.

I honestly could have spent all my money in Sephora! I limited myself this time but the next time I get an opportunity to go to one I'm sure I'll stock up.

Have you tried any of these products?
Let me know in the comments!

Thank you to my amazing sister for these images! Go check out her blog for more photography.

  1. I've never bought anything from Sephora as I think that we don't have it in my country. I really like the shade of these lipsticks. I usually always go for nude shades and I love how these two are looking. xx
