A TREND I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS SS17

This trend that I am absolutely loving actually does the rounds for every season, but I feel like this Spring/Summer everywhere I turn its there, making me wanna buy more for my collection.

The thing I am talking about is ruffles! Whether it's catwalk looks or high street stores, ruffles have been taken and styled in a million different ways and still manage to look honestly timeless. My wardrobe seems to be filled with items that have ruffles on the shoulders, back and chest but I didn't seem to own anything with ruffles on the sleeves... until this beautiful top come into my work!

At £12.99 this top is a steal, it comes in two colours, white, which I've styled in this post, or a bright hot pink. I obviously decided on the white one as hot pink is slightly out of the colour palette I dare to wear, even with (a subtle) pink being my new favourite colour! The top is made out of cotton so it's really comfortable to wear, although the sleeves are also made of cotton, they have a different feel from the body. The body of the top feels soft to the touch and the sleeves feel a bit more... stiff? Maybe that's not the right choice of words, but I'm guessing it holds the ruffle together a bit more.

Straying away from my usual all black getup, as soon as I bought this top I knew immediately what I wanted to style this top with, as I'd seen this beautiful denim dress before and I decided after payday I'd get it, and that I'd wear it with this ruffled sleeve top. I love the midi length of it, it means I don't have to wear tights with it which is perfect for the warmer months. It has really big spacey pockets which I'm guessing are purely decorative, but I've found they are actually the perfect size to pop your phone in!

Despite the whole day being extremely windy, the sun was trying it's hardest to come out so I styled the outfit with a Spring/Summer feel to it, adding touches of pink in my sunglasses and jacket, I also opted for converse instead of chunky boots, it's warm after all, do I really need boots? (probably, but shhhh)
