Every time I've gone to take some photos for my blog recently I've opened my wardrobe and stared into it, seeing absolutely nothing that stands out. All I kept thinking was "I need to buy new things". Buuuuut sticking with my fashion blogging on a budget post, and the fact that I'm broke, I thought I'd take another good look in my wardrobe. And I pulled out an item that I've had in my wardrobe for a long time but I've not worn for a while, and I styled it with something completely different to what I normally would!

The item that I've unearthed from the depths of my wardrobe is this Archive by Alexa Chung slip dress, which used to be one of my favourites! I stopped wearing it because I thought I'd gained too much weight to fit into it, but to my surprise it still fits. This dress is made from polyester so it has a really silky soft texture, this, along with the floral print and the lace trim make it feel so delicate and feminine. I would usually layer this with a white short sleeve cotton t-shirt, but as you all may know from my blog recently, I have a love for all things mesh, so to add a little bit of colour I styled a pastel pink mesh t-shirt underneath. I love the way my tattoos look underneath this t-shirt! You can also bring the dress in at the waist with a belt.

I decided to dress this outfit down in a casual way by adding my forever favourite converse, as you can tell I wear them 24/7 as they have seen better days. I also added pink touches to my makeup, to tie in with the pastel pink t-shirt! I used a Kat Von D liquid lipstick in the shade Lolita and for a pink eyeshadow I created a pink smokey eye with the MAC Burgundy Times Nine palette.

  1. I love this outfit so much 😍😍😍 girl you look amazing! The eye makeup is gorgeous! xo

  2. Love how you've put this outfit together. It's so hard not to fall into the fashion blogger = buy. buy buy mentality but I love blogs like yours that really celebrate awesome styling.

  3. So beautiful as always hun! I really need to try and do the same and stop buying new stuff and try and rework what I already have. I totally agree with Emma's comment - as a blogger I feel like that's a lot of pressure to be forever buying new stuff. You look amazing! Xx
