FORGETTING ABOUT NUMBERS

Recently I realised that I had sort of become obsessed with statistics for my blog, I'd find myself routine checking my stats everyday and being a bit gutted when a certain post didn't do so well when I love the images so much.

GRUNGE IS MY GO TO LOOK

I love experimenting with style, but sometimes it's nice to have a style you always go back to. My favourite go to look is always grunge! I feel more comfortable when dressed this way and I feel it shows who I am and what I like, too.

MY 5 WARDROBE ESSENTIALS

I am a repeat offender when it comes to my wardrobe, I have my favourite pieces and styles that I stick to constantly despite me wanting to constantly experiment with my style. There are a few specific styles or types of items that I always stick to no matter what and I always come back to these when I want comfort and a bit of familiarity.

DO BLOGGERS HAVE TO BE RELATABLE?

This post is about something I've been questioning for a long time now, even well before I started blogging I always wondered whether bloggers need to be relatable or not. As bloggers we all have our own niches, interests and tastes in fashion etc, and blogging and YouTube is a way to broadcast our passions and interests. But in reality, do our audience have to relate to the things we post?

MY CURRENT FAVOURITE COLOUR

I'm not a massive lover of colour, my favourite choice for colour ways are monochrome so black, white and grey kinda over rules colourful items in my wardrobe. As I've mentioned lots of times on Sister Of The Moon that I aim to style items that are experimental to me, I like to create new looks and push my own boundaries when it comes to style.

THE CHECK TROUSERS

I have always had an idea in my head that I wanted a pair of check trousers, I've had the odd pair every now and again but I wanted a black pair which would be more suited to my wardrobe but I could never find the right pair.

BLOGS I RECOMMEND READING

I've seen a lot of other people sharing the love for their favourite bloggers lately, and with a lot of negativity going around in the blogging community I thought I'd share with you my favourite blogs that I am loving at the moment too! Plus it's an introduction to some blogs you may not had read or heard of before.

REASONS WHY AUTUMN IS MY FAVOURITE SEASON

This post my sound a little cliche blogger to some, but Autumn genuinely is my favourite season of the year. I feel very much in my element in Autumn and it's all because of my favourite things that I have listed in this post!

FASHION BLOGGING HELPED MY CONFIDENCE

I started blogging in June 2016 and since then I have changed so much as a person, in many different ways. A lot of these changes have been because of my blog. I couldn't be more thankful too.

FEELING SASSY

I am absolutely loving glittery items at the moment, who doesn't feel absolutely sassy when wearing glitter? I know I definitely do. It usually takes a lot to make me feel good but in todays post it was an instant thing!

THE FOUNDATION THAT GIVES YOU ALL THE CONTROL

I'm a lover of NYX cosmetics, I think the products are of good quality and the price is reasonably cheap. Unlike many popular make up brands NYX is also easily available in most Boots stores in the UK!

WRAPPING UP FOR PUMPKIN PICKING

Do any of you bloggers ever have a dream backdrop or setting to take blog photos in? Well, this is mine. I've been so desperately excited for pumpkin season for such a long time, I've been brainstorming ideas for so long until the perfect opportunity came along!

BRINGING OUT AN AUTUMN FAVOURITE

October is here! Which means Autumn is making it's way out and most people would be bringing out the items they wear in colder climates... and this applies to me too. In a sense.

25 GOALS BEFORE 25

I've seen a lot of these posts going around lately, and I think they are a great idea. Documenting your goals (even the little silly ones, like you'll see on this post) on your blog so you can go back and look at what you've set yourself. I was inspired by Sophie at Weird & Wonderful Sophie to write this post, but change it up a bit!

SPACE GIRL

I'm going to delve straight in here with chatting about my outfit. Because in todays post I instantly fell in love with this dress, and I knew I wanted it straight away! It's a bit 'out there' but as I've said before, I'm trying to mix up my style. And with this dress, I'm absolutely loving it but also very terrified of how bright the print is!

THE FEAR OF REPETITION

I have been blogging for a little over a year now, and something that crops up a lot is the fear of repeating myself. Whether it be in my outfits, or in my words. Wanting to keep your readers engaged is something you think of a lot in blogging, and this is why I try my hardest not to be repetitive.

STYLING SUIT TROUSERS PART 1

Doing a series of blog posts has always been something I've been considering doing, I had the idea that I wanted an item that I could style in different ways to create completely different looks. But I wasn't sure what item I wanted to do this with... Until I found these beautiful suit trousers!

BEING UNAPOLOGETICALLY ME

When I was younger all I used to do was follow the crowds, stick to what everyone else was doing, and hold back when it came to how I dressed and acted. It was something I thought was 'the easy way' and more 'comfortable to fit in with everyone else'. As I've grown up and experienced more I've definitely grown into my personality more, this has reflected on how I dress too.

GLITTER AND VINYL

Autumn is (almost) here! For some reason I've been particularly excited about jumper weather this year, I think this mainly is because the heat has been unbearable in the tiny bit of summer we have had, I don't sit well with being sweaty and sticky. I'd much rather be chilly and have to wrap up in layers and wear jumpers.

MAKING SUMMER CLOTHES WEARABLE FOR AUTUMN

Autumn is fast approaching and theres only a few days left in August, and you know what that means? We're at that awkward transitional stage where autumn clothing isn't quite properly in stores yet but summer clothing doesn't feel right to wear anymore. The trick is, try to make your summer clothes wearable for Autumn...

MY PROBLEM WITH THE INTERNET

I scroll through the internet as much as the next person, I wake up in the morning and catch up on my social medias, I do the same on my lunch break, when I finish work and when I'm bored. We all spend a lot of time looking through the same pages over and over again.

A DIPBROW DUPE: IS IT WORTH THE HYPE?

It's no secret that I'm a lover of Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, and a lover of drawing my eyebrows on whenever I leave the house. However, sometimes I look for cheaper alternatives for the products I love, because lets be honest, who doesn't love saving money and finding cheap dupes?

KEEPING IT SIMPLE

Despite me buying a mass amount of stand out prints lately I still do like to go back to basics with my style, and bring out items that are my go-to comforts, such as stripes. You can never have too much stripes in your wardrobe.

AN ALTERNATIVE BOHO LOOK

When you hear the term 'layering' you automatically think of autumn/winter, I always picture jeans, jumpers scarves and hats... but I've managed to achieve a boho themed summer look, with layers!

WHY I FEEL THAT MIXING UP STYLE BENEFITS MY BLOG

Being a goth gal through and through means that a lot of my day-to-day outfits consist of black, white and grey, and there is nothing wrong with it at all. But I find that mixing up my style does benefit my blog! Recently, I have been stepping right out of my comfort zone, and I'm really happy with it.

STYLING FOR THE UNPREDICTABLE SUMMER

So, it's August 1st and the UK has clearly had it's tiny bit of summer, I mean the weather has gone back to it's usual temperamental self, and everywhere I turn in shops there is woolly jumpers, hats, scarves and autumnal prints, including this amazing red tartan dress!

NEW STYLES FOR MY WARDROBE

What is this you see? Me wearing not a single smidge of black clothing? Yes that's right! Something that has been running through my mind recently is how I'm going to incorporate new styles and colours into my wardrobe, without looking awkwardly like a goth gal that has grown out of her teen "phase"

BASIC TOOLS FOR FASHION BLOGGING

The blogging world is ever growing and there is a lot of inspiring people out there, which means the rate of new bloggers is also huge. I know starting up as a new blogger can be pretty daunting when there is so so many talented hard working people out there already creating fab content.

THE ANSWER IS CULOTTES

Want to be super comfy yet still look stylish? Then here we have your answer! Culottes all the way. If you're late to the game the you should consider investing in a pair, you'll never look back.

THE UNDER £30 OUTFIT

As you all may know so far, I'm a sucker for a bargain! A lot of my clothes shopping tends to be either sales or only super cheap products. I live for keeping the price low and trying to save as much as I can.

A NEW OBSESSION

I am the sort of person that will wear something to death if I really like it. Recently, I have found an item of clothing that I have quickly become obsessed with.

ONE WHOLE YEAR OF BLOGGING

Happy first birthday to Sister Of The Moon! My first year of blogging has mainly been dedicated to finding my feet in the blogging world. There are a lot of things that I am thankful for, when it comes to blogging!

HOW OFTEN YOU BLOG DOESNT DEFINE YOU

Lately I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus, not purposely, mind you. But it was well over a month between posts, with work and general life getting in the way!

SEPHORA HAUL

Sephora is a store that has always been on my 'places to visit' list, and I never thought I'd get a chance to pop into a store and take a look around until recently! When I went on holiday to Paris in May I was super lucky to be staying in an apartment that was a minute walk away from a shopping centre (and Sephora... eeee!).

A TREND I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS SS17

This trend that I am absolutely loving actually does the rounds for every season, but I feel like this Spring/Summer everywhere I turn its there, making me wanna buy more for my collection.

FINDING THE PERFECT SPOT TO TAKE OUTFIT PHOTOS

To be completely honest with you, one of the things that comes with being a fashion blogger is finding a perfect spot for taking your outfit photographs. You find yourself constantly taking in your surroundings when you're out and about and travelling, and you have to try and remember those spots too!

A SUPERMARKET STEAL

Whenever I pop into the Supermarket to do my food shop I always take a wander over to the clothing section to have a browse. A lot of Supermarkets sell clothing now, Tescos have F&F, Asda have George and Sainsburys have TU... just to name a few!

LUSTING OVER PINK

You know when you see someone wearing an item of clothing and you have to have it? Like even despite not knowing where its from or how much it costs? This cute pink top was one of those items. It's totally something that you wouldn't imagine me wearing but it was clothing fate and I needed it instantly!

REVIVING OLD CLOTHING

Every time I've gone to take some photos for my blog recently I've opened my wardrobe and stared into it, seeing absolutely nothing that stands out. All I kept thinking was "I need to buy new things". Buuuuut sticking with my fashion blogging on a budget post, and the fact that I'm broke, I thought I'd take another good look in my wardrobe. And I pulled out an item that I've had in my wardrobe for a long time but I've not worn for a while, and I styled it with something completely different to what I normally would!

SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH

Recently on Twitter I ran a poll that asked my followers whether they prefer simple Outfit Of The Day posts or outfit posts that had an informative text with it...

HIDDEN BEHIND A BOOKCASE | THE BLIND LIBRARIAN PRESS NIGHT

Recently I was contacted by Jess at heartshapedbones to see if I wanted to be her plus one to a press evening at a bar in Bawtry, Doncaster. The only information we had about the event was the invitation, which had a small key attached to show at the door upon arrival, there was sort of a mysterious feel to it all, it left me feeling a little bit excited to see what The Blind Librarian was all about!

NEW CHALLENGES THIS SPRING

I've set myself a few mini goals to start with this spring, these goals are small steps to improving my quality of life (without sounding cliche) and I'm putting them in place to make me feel a little bit happier!

FASHION BLOGGING ON A BUDGET

Something I've seen popping up on twitter a lot recently is whether certain bloggers are 'relatable',and specifically, a lot of tweets and opinions on whether people want to see designer handbags/belts/other items constantly on blogs and youtube.

TRYING TO GET MY BLOGGING MOJO BACK

Some regular readers may have noticed that lately, I have not really been posting much on my blog. There are numerous reasons for this and although I don't have to make excuses for myself, I feel I should keep you all updated with the reasons why.

TIPS FOR SORTING YOUR WARDROBE

My job is in fashion retail, and my main hobby is my blog, which is mainly fashion based. I do love how my life almost revolves around fashion. But there is one downside to this, and thats owning too many clothes.

A SEVENTIES THEME

An all time favourite of mine is flared sleeves, or bell sleeves.
