Hello lovelies! With the eagerly anticipated Kat Von D Cosmetics products arriving in the U.K. recently happening I thought I'd jump on the hype and see what its all about.
Kat Von D products are available in selected Debenhams stores and online through Debenhams, which is where I purchased mine from, as unfortunately I live far away from any of the stores that do stock it.

The products I got are the Lock It foundation in Light 44 and the London Calling miniatures set. I decided on the miniatures set as I didn't want to pay full price for products and dislike them.

The first product I tried was the Lock It foundation in Light 44, this foundation is amazing! The coverage is quite full and manages to cover my acne prone, red blotchy and combination style skin. I applied this with a beauty sponge for a perfect even coverage. Safe to say despite the £27 price tag I am never going to use a different foundation! The only downside is its a little bit too dark for my skin, but I knew if I ordered a shade lighter it would be too light as I have seen other bloggers and YouTubers purchase it, and it be pure white. No thanks!

Next up is the London Calling 'fearless favourites' set! Right, before I get into reviewing these products I must say the container sizes are TINY! I expected small products with them being miniatures, but these seem like sample sizes. In this set you receive the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in 'Double Dare', the Studded Kiss Lipstick in 'Lolita' and the Tattoo Liner in 'Trooper'.

When applying the lip products I lined my lips with Lolita and filled them in with Double Dare, just like the 'artistry tip' says on the bottom of the box. This gave the most wonderful full matte lip! My lipstick did not budge all day. Seriously. I must have had a drink about 10 times and I even ate a lot of food with this on, and by the end of the day I would have only had to retouch the inner part of my lip a small amount. I'd definitely recommend this. Plus Lolita comes in a cute studded container.

The Tattoo Liner on the other hand, isn't a favourite of mine. Don't get me wrong, its a good product, with its razor sharp brush tip it should be easy to achieve perfect precise liner but it isn't very black at all. If you wanted full black you would have to layer it up a few times, but with winged liner once you get the perfect wing.. going over it a few times would ruin the sharpness of the flick!

Below is swatches of the products for you guys!

L-R: Lock It foundation, Lolita, Double Dare, Trooper.
The left swatch of the eyeliner has been layered three times, to try and achieve a thick black line.

I did try and take a picture of my face with the products for you, but I didn't use the Tattoo Liner, as I find it too hard to use.

Do I really think its worth the hype?
Yes I do! The quality of the products is amazing, the coverage is perfect and they are all long lasting! The swatches I did for this blog post didn't wash off properly for two days, despite me having multiple baths and rubbing micellar water all over it. It's just a shame about the Tattoo Liner as I've heard so many good things about it.

  1. I've been seeing the little set everywhere and really want to give it's go!

With the foundation - what kinda shades do you wear in other foundations? I'm so eager to try it but I don't want to get the wrong colour!

    1. I used to use MAC studio fix in nw10 and any urban decay ones in 0.5, basically the paler the better! I used a site called findation.com and you enter in your current foundations in, and it generates all the other brands out there that have similar shades. And Kat Von D will come up in the answers! Then I looked at swatches online, of my suggested shade.

      Hope this helps! X

  2. I'm so glad you enjoyed the majority of the products you bought! I think the foundation and the lip products are the ones I'm must interested in so it's good that worked well for you as a fellow pale gal! Your makeup looks amazing X

  3. I hear so much about this foundation it's definitely one I want to try but I don't know what it is but I'm not as drawn to this brand as I feel I should be.

  4. I absolutely ADORE Double-Dare, such an underrated shade! Agree with you about Trooper though, I usually paint a bit of something else on top once I've outlined <3
